Deuterium retention in W and binary W alloys irradiated with high energy Fe ions

چکیده
To investigate systematically the effects of Re and other elements on deuterium (D) retention, W binary W-alloys (Re, Mo Ta) were irradiated with 6.4 MeV Fe ions at high temperatures (1073–1273 K) then exposed to D 2 gas 673 K. Depth profiles measured by nuclear reaction analysis (NRA), retention was determined thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS) NRA. The addition 5 at.% into reduced content trapped radiation-induced defects created irradiation 1273 K peak damage level displacements per atom (dpa). At fractions 1, 3 at.%, comparable observed after 0.5 dpa 1073 Ta resulted in no visible retention.

Surface degeneration of W crystal irradiated with low-energy hydrogen ions
The damage layer of a W (100) crystal irradiated with 120 eV hydrogen ions at a fluence of up to 1.5 × 10(25)/m(2) was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and conductive atomic force microscopy (CAFM). The periodic surface degeneration of the W crystal at a surface temperature of 373 K was formed at increasing hydrogen fluence. Observations by CCD camera and CAFM indicate the existence...
متن کاملInterdiffusion of Refractory Elements in Fe-Cr-X (X-Mo, W) and Fe-Mo-W Ternary Iron Alloys
Interdiffusion coefficients of the refractory elements in Fe-Cr-X (X 1⁄4 Mo, W) and Fe-Mo-W ternary alloys were measured on the basis of the modified Boltzmann-Matano method for ternary systems. The cross interdiffusion coefficient, ~ D CrW was positive in Fe-Cr-W ternary alloy, indicating that W accelerates interdiffusion between Fe and Cr atoms. On the other hand, the cross interdiffusion coe...

متن کاملFormation and Disruption of W-Phase in High-Entropy Alloys
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are single-phase systems prepared from equimolar or near-equimolar concentrations of at least five principal elements. The combination of high mixing entropy, severe lattice distortion, sluggish diffusion and cocktail effect favours the formation of simple phases—usually a bcc or fcc matrix with minor inclusions of ordered binary intermetallics. HEAs have been propose...
متن کاملHIGH-STRENGTH NANOCRYSTALLINE Ni-W ALLOYS PRODUCED BY ELECTRODEPOSITION
Nanocrystalline Ni-W alloys having both high ductility and high strength were produced by electrodeoisition. The plating bath for the electrodeposition contained nickel sulfate, citric acid, sodium tungstate and ammonium chloride, and was operated at various bath concentrations and conditions of electrolysis. The ductility and tensile strength of the deposited alloys are strongly influenced by ...
